Gold Coast – Asics Half Marathon Prep

Last year I didn’t get to run the Asics half marathon as I got the flu. So I am determined to make sure I’m an healthy enough this coming July 2 2011.

The goal is to complete the run in under 2 hours without any injuries.

So far, I have completed a 3km and a 10km run this year to prepare myself. Instead of trying to complete as many long distant runs as I can prior to the marathon, I intend to do at least a 10km run a week and do morning runs that involve 5kms or less throughout the week. As the marathon date comes closer, I’ll do 1 or 2 practice 21km runs.

Reason for this approach is to avoid any leg injuries before the half marathon.

Let’s see how I go!
